Né en 1971, Mikka Grytviken grandit au près d’une mère mélomane et découvre le Blues, le Jazz, la Soul, le Funk et le Rock très tôt en écoutant les disques qu’elle collectionne.

C’est en 1991 dans un groupe où il est alors claviériste et chanteur qu’un ami l’initie à la guitare. C’est alors qu’il se passionne pour BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Stevie Ray Vaughan et Eric Johnson.

En 1994 il intègre sur la ville de Tours différents groupes en tant que guitariste et chanteur, et fonde en 1998 le groupe Groove Morning Sir.

En 2002 il collaborera avec Guillaume Corpard, alors futur leader de The AIM, pour l’enregistrement de son troisième album « A Contre Jour » signé chez De Bercy – Socadisc.

Il s’installe en 2003 en Martinique et enrichit son jeu en s’initiant aux musiques de la caraïbe en intégrant différents projets musicaux et participe à l’enregistrement de l’album Street Misery avec l’artiste Patrick Lafrontière et le groupe Moun avec qui il a fait de nombreuses scènes dont le festival de Fort-de-France.

De retour fin 2011 en Touraine, il fonde en 2012 The Souledgers et collabore de 2013 à 2015 avec la chanteuse Ivoirienne Christina Goh (La Perle Noire Du Blues) signée chez Plazza Mayor.

Il fonde en 2017 le Mikka Grytviken Trio avec lequel il tourne et enregistre durant l’été 2018 l’album Corportion Long Stay disponible au format CD et sur les plateformes légales depuis Octobre 2018 distribué par Sept Distribution et Ampersound Records.

Le Mikka Grytviken Trio étant mis totalement à l’arrêt par le premier confinement et durant la crise du Covid 19 dès Mars 2020, Mikka en profite pour s’enfermer dans son home studio pour enregistrer l’album « My Chuck Berry Tribute » sorti en spetembre 2021 en version numérique sur Bandcamp. Dans la foulée il enregistre un EP concept instrumental de 5 titres (plus un bonus track) intitulé « Thirteen Almignty » sorti est en Mai 2022 ainsi qu’un album complet dont la sortie n’est pas encore connue.

Born in 1971, Mikka Grytviken grew up near a music-loving mother, and discovers the Blues, Jazz, Soul, Funk and Rock early by listening to records she collects.

In 2017 he founded the Mikka Grytviken Trio with which he plays concerts and recorded during the 2018 summer the album Corportion Long Stay available in CD format and on legal streming platforms since October 2018 distributed by Sept Distribution and Ampersound Records.

The Mikka Grytviken Trio being completely shut down by the first confinement and during the Covid 19 crisis from March 2020, Mikka took the opportunity to lock himself in his home studio to record the album « My Chuck Berry Tribute » released in September 2021 in digital version on Bandcamp. In the process, he recorded an instrumental concept EP of 5 songs (plus a bonus track) entitled « Thirteen Almignty » released in May 2022 as well as a complete album whose release is not yet known.
